Have You Read 'Mother Hunger'
Daisy Chain Eighteen invite you to their September meeting to discuss the book Mother Hunger by Kelly McDaniel.
Gillian Cruickshank says: I read the book after it being recommended to me and found it to be extremely interesting on both a personal and a professional level. Our Daisy Chain hopes to have regular discussions on a variety of topics and this is our first book.
Kelly McDaniel’s book Mother Hunger explores the deep wounds that arise when maternal nurturing, protection and guidance are inconsistent or absent. These unmet needs can shape our sense of safety, self-worth, and capacity for healthy relationships well into adulthood.
EFT can be a powerful tool for working with this kind of attachment trauma. By acknowledging and processing these early experiences in a safe, embodied way, EFT helps release the emotional charge held in the body and creates space for self-compassion, healing, and the reparenting of the inner child that McDaniel emphasises throughout her work.
We recommend that people have read at least part of the book beforehand.
