Frankly Speaking: Practitioner Self-Awareness, Pitfalls & Progress with Jondi Whitis & Moon Teitel

It's hard to see ourselves. It's hard to remember to make a conscious and frequent effort to do that. And in a world of noise, chaos, too-much and competing demands...this often gets lost, as we: put it off til later, tell ourselves we're good/ok, pretend everything is fine, don't make time for the self-care we talk about, don't ask for help/support, or even engage in denial and delusion.

The outcome is often much the same: We are not at our best so we cannot give our best. Often our work suffers, which means our clients suffer. And just as often, we are deaf or blind to those around us who suffer in our wake. It's easy to do if we don't have frequent self-awareness checks, or only engage with our fan club/yes-posse or echo chamber, so we don't have to hear any conflicting opinions. There are fancier names for this, but they often obscure the simple truth: we rarely if ever see ourselves as others do, and generally spend precious little time seeking out feedback that would offer a different view of ourselves.

Which means it's going to be very hard to grow and become better, evolving versions of our self. Harder to feel comfortable AND authentic. Easier to fall into imposter syndrome and ego games.

Join us for a conversation for getting clearer when, where and how this happens, and how we might choose to re-vision our self-awareness practices.
