What I love about EFT? My story, my passion, my vision:
Someone once told me they should wear a t-shirt that says ‘EFT saved my life’ and I think maybe I should too! I discovered EFT around ten years ago, when I was almost better from CFS/ME. After having gone through 5 years of chronic illness aged 19-24, I was still working out who I was in the world. Emotionally, mentally and spiritually I was all over the place, with high states of awareness and joy at times, followed by depression and anxiety at others. I could’ve got a label of bipolar at the time but thankfully I just avoided taking myself to a psychiatrist and the label of ‘spiritual crisis’ or ‘kundalini syndrome’ was fitting when I looked into what it could be that I was experiencing. I was at a healing fair, and I tried some EFT, and immediately it shifted the emotion and instability I was experiencing at the time, and ease and relaxation came into my body and mind.

I was hooked. I began training in a course that combined NLP, Hypnotherapy, Life Coaching and EFT to Level 2 later that year. I went on to do Level 3, repeat all levels several times, organise courses in Sheffield and eventually to train to be a trainer with our highly respected EFT Guild teacher, Gwyneth Moss.

I used EFT with clients, and most clients whether they initially wanted to or not, were introduced to some tapping in the first session. Many of them also got quickly deeply appreciated the method, and over time used EFT as a key part of their recovery process.

An email today came in from a client who had used EFT for something big that had come up and quickly felt 90% better about it; I get reports like this all the time, not only from my work with a client, but also what they can do on their own.

This is one of the many wonderful things about EFT; it is an empowering self-help tool that many get great results even without a therapist. Saying that, having someone experienced to tap with is very helpful, to provide the safety and containment to work with deeper material and to encourage you to make the time and space for your healing process. Indeed I have regular sessions myself still, to work on ancestral trauma and to keep developing and progressing in work and life.

My vision moving forwards is to expand and develop EFT Training and my expertise in using EFT for clients one to one for Chronic health conditions and a variety of issues, and to integrate more deeply with my training in Family Constellations.
About my Practice:
EFT is now my favourite modality to use with clients in one-to-one sessions. I have clients who come to me simply for EFT to work with anxiety, a specific trauma or a phobia. The majority of my clients have ME, CFS, FMS or MCS. My session work for these clients includes EFT and often support with Amygdala Retraining (www.cfsrecovery.com).

The kind of things you can use EFT on to support recovery from chronic illness include fearful thoughts, beliefs and feelings related to illness, present and past stressful life situations, past and present trauma, bereavements that may need deeper healing and also the physical symptoms themselves. Basically, anything at all that may be contributing to internal stress patterns and nervous system activation that keep the illness cycle going.

I also offer EFT Training in Sheffield.
Other therapies I use alongside EFT:
Coaching, Internal Family Systems, Gupta Programme Coaching, NLP (Neuro-Linguistic Programming), Hypnotherapy and Family Constellations.
How I use EFT:
  • Self Help
  • Friends and Family
  • Private Practice EFT only
  • Private Practice EFT and other therapies
